Green Office® ENJOY

The Green Office® ENJOY is a special office building: It is located on a railway underpass, it is mainly made of wood and produces more energy than it consumes. Around 1,250 people are using the 17,400 square meters of office space since April 2019, benefiting from the valuable experience of the unique architecture as well as the comfort of its technical equipment. The Green Office® ENJOY is a special place for the neighbourhood: It marks the northwestern entrance to the new urban district and has its own patio, the green area of which accounts for 15 percent of the base area. The new positive-energy house is an optimised product - from a technical, architectural and human point of view.
Buildings and their surroundings always interact. Here, in the Clichy-Batignolles district of Paris, this interaction had a major influence on the design of the house. For a very simple reason: The concrete slab of the railway underpass required a lightweight construction to bear the load of the building. In times of increasing awareness of the finite nature of resources, wood was naturally the material of choice. The many years of experience of Baumschlager Eberle Architekten in the field of timber constructions and its partner office SCAPE Architecture in integrated digitisation (BIM planning) made the decision easy.
